According to the new research scientists introduced a new technique which may help to detect Alzheimer’s disease at its early stage. In their research they found that the small blood vessels in the retina at the back of the eye are altered in the patients with Alzheimer’s. This new technique can quickly detect alzheimer’s disease at the earliest stages.
By using an innovative and noninvasive eye technique called optical coherence tomography (OCT), scientists can distinguish between the signs of Alzheimer’s and signs of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) which is a condition that raises the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
