According to the new study researchers found new artificial intelligence system which may help to predict Alzheimer’s 6 years earlier than medics. Now a days one of the most difficult brain disorder is Alzheimer’s and it affects millions of people’s worldwide and still there is no effective cure for the disease. So, early detection of Alzheimer’s disease may help to slow down the disease process.
Researchers from US trained AI system to detect metabolic changes in patients brain which may help to predict the development of alzheimer’s in patients. For continuing their study researchers trained AI system using 2000 brain images from 1000 patients. After their research they found AI was able to predict accurately which patients would eventually receive Alzheimer’s diagnosis. This AI system was able to identify dementia in 40 patients before they were formally diagnosed.
The advantages are it is 100% accurate, high efficiency and it can predict every single case that advanced to Alzheimer’s disease.
In future, this AI algorithm is useful to the radiologist and improve opportunities for the early treatment of Alzheimer’s patients. This system not only help patients from the their disease but also it would greatly reduce costs associated with long term Alzheimer’s care.
Dr Jae Ho Sohn, one of the researcher said “They are very pleased with the algorithm’s performance”.
